Grand Canyon Lodging:

Take a Mule Ride from a Grand Canyon Lodging

A Grand Canyon lodging offers spectacular scenery at a price you can afford.

One of Nature’s Wonders

There are many natural wonders throughout the world, and the Grand Canyon ranks high on that list. Annually, great numbers of people descend on the American southwest to view and travel into this incredible vision of nature. So, if you want to partake of this, the nation’s oldest national park, you need to plan ahead and reserve a room at one of the Grand Canyon Lodgings.

Local Hotels

The Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn is the only resort hotel located inside the park. The hotel has fine rooms for as little as $89 a night and their deluxe rate is only $109 per night. A very reasonable price, especially when you consider that the hotel is located right on the south rim of the canyon. Most of the rooms afford you a spectacular view of the canyon.

If you prefer Grand Canyon lodging located outside the park, you can take your pick of fine establishments. The Grand Hotel, just two miles from the park’s entrance is the newest hotel in the area. Their rooms are a bit pricey, $139 a night, but for some, location is important.

On the other hand, if a little drive is not that much of a bother to you, Grand Canyon lodging can be yours for as little as $49 a night at the Days Inn. It is located in Williams, Arizona, right off Interstate 40 and Route 66; just about fifty-eight miles from the park. Now, if you want to split the difference, you can try the Buffalo Pointe Lodge Bed and Breakfast. Not only are its rates quite reasonable, about $75 a night, but it is a short drive to the Canyon.

Include an Excursion in Your Trip

Of course, most people do not come to the area strictly for the Grand Canyon lodging; it is to see the Canyon itself. Well, with most of the hotels, they can arrange any one of several great trips into the Canyon. There is the Canyon River Adventure, the Colorado River Float Trip, and the Inner Grand Canyon Jeep Tour. One of the newest tours is the Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour, and there is also the Grand Indian Skywalk. The first, and some consider the best way, of seeing the Canyon is via the Mule Rides. Of course, not everyone likes the idea of a mule ride along the narrow and winding trail that leads down into the Canyon. It is, I suppose, an acquired taste.
